Being vegan has nothing to do with improving agricultural processes. It's astounding that you muppets can't read. The whole purpose of being on a forum is that you read the whole message and not cherry pick the bits you think apply. Wants everyone else to make sacrifices but wont take responsibility for their own behaviour or lifestyle.

Groundswell, drop the self-importance. The 21st century called, and it's leaving you behind. Quit the stubborn act, embrace change, or enjoy being a relic in the dust of progress. Time to wake up and smell the innovation. Spoken like a true townie.
If you did genuinely want to push for a big change that would make a massively bigger difference to the climate then go after concrete, the biggest emitter on the planet and a substance that is the the very core of any city thrive on. But you won't do that will you as it is easier to bitch at others than take action yourself.
The Jacinda Theory someone referred to that as the other week. I'm still processing that one a little.
I think you'll find the energy sector is the biggest emitter on the planet... I have done what I can by buying energy only from clean sources, got rid of my petrol car. I run my engine on the boat as little as possible... I agree it's a multipronged approach.

I suggest sabre and fish you go back and read the original post about leaving and the conditions attached to it... then you will understand why I haven't left.

Wants everyone else to make sacrifices but wont take responsibility for their own behaviour or lifestyle. You're struggling with some basic concepts there. The definition of everyone would include me. Therefore I would also expect to make the same sacrifices. Although I am humbled that you would consider that I fall outside the superset of 'everyone' and stand alone with the elite.

There you go with the misinformation again, those volcanoes blow anything humans can come up with right out of the water, sometimes literally.

Humanity's annual carbon emissions through the burning of fossil fuels and forests, etc., are 40 to 100 times greater than all volcanic emissions.

Volcanoes and volcanic regions alone outgas an estimated 280-360 million tonnes (0.28 to 0.36 Gt) of CO2 per year.
The fossil fuel sector, through the combustion of coal, oil, and natural gas for energy, transportation, and industrial processes, emits approximately 30 to 40 billion metric tons (30 to 40 Gt) of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually.

We all need to contribute in our own ways.
Groundswell, however, seems to be all about rejecting every regulation, survey, and form of progress. Their stance appears rooted in preserving the status quo, even though sticking to the status quo is causing significant problems for humanity.

There is a presumption of significant harms to humanity, very contradicting evidence and biased selection of opinions on that one. there is however real disruption to farmers and consumers due to regulations.

Thank God! Common sense prevailing...
Luxon said a Treaty principles bill (which Act has said would include a requirement for a public binding referendum as part of a commencement clause) would be supported to select committee, but “that’s as far as it will go”.
What a complete woftam a referendum would be.

But some do put a good case up batteries, specifically the larger EV/Power wall type ones are worse again.
What's a city? A gazillion of tonnes of assorted concrete shapes that can not function without massive amounts of fossil fuels in it's many assorted forms. Now with extra added batteries due to Labours rich prick mates support programs.

What a complete woftam a referendum would be. Dude keep up, that was in the coalition Document released weeks ago. It will be supported by the 3 coalition parties to Select committee stage and then the chips fall where they may.
What is the referendum question that has you so scared?

He is saying it won't get past select committee - so it's a complete waste of money, if it won't get past select committee then what's the point of doing it in the first place?
