Ok we have got the 90 days trial back. Does that apply to parliamentarians? including Act/Nat NZF leadership? for sure, we can get rid of every mp from Labour, Greens and TMP as they are nothing but unproductive oxygen thieves

Had anyone noticed this sweet little change pushed through just prior to ze election? ‘The Companies Act’s section on director duties has been amended. Under the new law, acting in the best interest of the company may not be just about maximising profit but also taking other factors into consideration (for example, environmental, social, and governance matters)’Companies Act 1993, Section 131 (as at 4 August 2023) companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/help-centre/company-directors/what-it-means-to-be-a-director/They're like the gift that keeps giving, even after they've been arseholed out.

I see Fatty Robinson finally took the hint and quit. Only took him 5 months to find another job. (Getting close to the 6 month limit Luxon is putting on the job seeker allowance).
But, Dear God, Vice Chancellor at Otago?!?! The place is already $100 million in dept.
I note former Labour big wig Steve Maharey took over Massey as Vice Chancellor, at the place is rapidly imploding. Closing the Albany campus science faculty just after completing a gazillion dollar new build of the science building...

Closing the Albany campus science faculty just after completing a gazillion dollar new build of the science building... just continuing the troughing and will be on a salary approaching $700k (Otago VC in 2020 was getting $650k), and his BA is a rather lowly qualification when measured against other VC's per www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/02/grant_goneburger.htmlAUT – PhD (Oxford)
Massey – PhD (Murdock)
Lincoln – DPhil (Oxford)
auckland – PhD (Nottingham)

reducing "child poverty" in nz
labour brought this in in 2018
"Child poverty" measures These 10 measures must be reported on annually by the Government Statistician. The reports must specify the percentage of children living in households in New Zealand in each financial year who fell in these categories.
a) Low income: less than 50% median equivalised disposable household income before housing costs (BHC) for the financial year b) Low income: less than 50% median equivalised disposable household income after housing costs (AHC) for the base financial year c) Material hardship d) Poverty persistence [Note: definition not required until the financial year beginning 1 July 2025] e) Low income: less than 60% median equivalised disposable household income before housing costs (BHC) for the financial year f) Low income: less than 60% median equivalised disposable household income after housing costs (AHC) for the financial year g) Low income: less than 50% median equivalised disposable household income after housing costs (AHC) for the financial year h) Low income: less than 40% median equivalised disposable household income after housing costs (AHC) for the financial year i) Severe material hardship (apparently defined as not having new quality shoes?......guess the warehouse is out?" j) Low income and hardship: less than 60% median equivalised disposable household income after housing costs (AHC) for the financial year and material hardship.
you'll note that everything, except the shoes? is a % 'median equivalised disposable household income'
so even if every household's income doubled..which you'd think would be a good thing........the %s would stay the same....
so it's not really to do with "child poverty" but inequality....
....
tell you what
if the adults in the household are on the dole, and have a ton of kids
they're going to be poor
and i can't see that as something i can fix
