Thomas Cranmer on the ridiculous furor surrounding the visit by Kellie Jay-Keen promoting recognition of biological women cranmer.substack.com/p/free-speech-or-transphobia-kellie?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=emailon free speech It’s a climate that was described by the late British philosopher and noted conservative, Sir Roger Scruton, in an essay titled “The Right to Free Speech” published in The Spectator in 2019. In that essay he wrote, “We in Britain are entering a dangerous social condition in which the direct expression of opinions that conflict - or merely seem to conflict - with a narrow set of orthodoxies is instantly punished by a band of self-appointed vigilantes. We are being cowed into abject conformity around a dubious set of official doctrines and told to adopt a world view that we cannot examine for fear of being publicly humiliated by the censors. This world view might lead to a new and liberated social order; or it might lead to the social and spiritual destruction of our country. How shall we know, if we are too afraid to discuss it?”

New Zealand's day of shame and mob rule preventing free speech karldufresne.blogspot.com/2023/03/a-day-of-shame.htmlopens Protesters marching against the Springbok rugby tour in 1981 used to chant, “The whole world’s watching”.I doubt that the world was watching what happened in Auckland this morning (it probably wasn’t watching in 1981 either), but anyone who witnessed what happened to Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, aka Posie Parker, saw a mortal blow being delivered to New Zealand’s reputation as a civil, liberal democracy where the rule of law applies.A violent, angry rabble forced Parker to abandon a public meeting as the police stood by and did nothing. She was drowned out when she tried to speak and had tomato soup and food flung at her.As predicted on this site, the real inciters of hate and disorder turned out to be not the so-called far Right but the woke Left – the same woke Left that tried to convince the High Court yesterday that they were the people who would be at risk if Parker was allowed into New Zealand.Hypocrisy doesn’t begin to describe it. The English language doesn’t have a strong enough word.In a perverse way, the trans rights activists have done us a favour by laying bare their hatred, their bigotry, their intolerance of dissenting opinion and their propensity for violence. The people of New Zealand can now see who the real thugs are and who represents the threat to public order.from Kiwiblog www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2023/03/imagine_how_this_would_be_reported.htmland a comment therein In your scenario DPF, the socialists would be incendiary. Because the pro Hamas speaker had correct views. I will never forget yesterday’s events. KJK could have been killed. When she arrived there were no police present. That must have been a deliberate decision. They managed to deploy a cordon of several hundred police at the Parliament anti mandate protest. A protest that was overwhelmingly peaceful. The police would have known that a violent mob was going to descend on a lone woman. The police are showing their selective policing at the worst, I still remember walking past the illegal BLM protest (under COVID rules) a couple of years ago in Auckland and the police were just milling around not doing anything. Yet a picnic in the Domain created an uproar Group hysteria is dangerous. More so when the media affirms the legitimacy of the group. That is exactly what happened in Rwanda in 1995.

Yep yesterday was an absolute shocker. Has anyone from the rainbow/alphabet community apologised yet? Surely some of them can see the hypocrisy of preaching tolerance, anti-violence and incusivity for so long? The hate filled mob yesterday sent their movement back 50 years in time imo.

Pink Floyd In The Flesh
Are there any queers in the theater tonight? Get them up against the wall! There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me, Get him up against the wall! That one looks Jewish! And that one's a coon! Who let all of this riff-raff into the room? There's one smoking a joint, And another with spots! If I had my way, I'd have all of you shot!

Counter protests play a critical role in challenging harmful views and actions, particularly those that promote discrimination, hate, and violence towards marginalized communities.
When individuals like Posie Parker seek to spread harmful messages and promote discriminatory views, it is important for members of the affected community and their allies to speak out and push back against these messages. Counter protests serve as a powerful way to amplify the voices and experiences of marginalized communities, challenge harmful stereotypes and misinformation, and send a strong message that hate and discrimination will not be tolerated.
Posie Parker's rally in New Zealand was promoting views that are harmful and discriminatory towards transgender individuals, it is understandable that members of the transgender community and their allies would want to organize a counter protest to challenge these views and protect the well-being and safety of the affected community.
The majority of people believe that spreading harmful messages and promoting discriminatory views is not acceptable. Moreover, an even smaller group of individuals would find it justifiable to respond with actions like pouring tomato soup over someone.

Other than repeatedly saying they are harmful and discriminatory, what are her actual views? She opposes laws and policies that allow transgender people to be legally recognised. She opposes the use of public bathrooms by transgender people according to their gender She opposes the participation of transgender people in sports that align with their gender She opposes drag performances. She has claimed that billionaires are funding transgenderism, generating significant profits. She has also made various claims about the bodies of trans people and whether they take hormones or other medication, and has taken aim at migrant communities in the UK. She also opposes the use of puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy. She is an insular transphobic bigot who masquerades as a women's rights activist. Bottom-line, transgender individuals deserve the same rights and protections as any other person, and that denying them access to basic services and accommodations is a form of discrimination.

To recap again on her views.
1 No biological men in female spaces such as changing rooms.
2 No surgical or medical procedures on minors to ‘change gender’.
3 No biological men in women’s sports.

The sight of Laural Hubbard weightlifting in an NZ singlet was sickening. How can a biological man compete in a power and strength sport against woman?

The sight of Laural Hubbard weightlifting in an NZ singlet was sickening. How can a biological man compete in a power and strength sport against woman? So, the question of whether it's okay for biological men to compete against women in sports is a highly controversial and divisive issue. It's been causing a lot of heated debates lately, with people on both sides of the argument having strong opinions. Basically, some people argue that it's fair for transgender women to compete in women's sports, while others believe it's unfair and gives them an unfair advantage. There are biological differences between men and women that can affect how well they perform in sports, with men generally having more muscle mass, bigger hearts and lungs, and higher levels of testosterone, which can make them stronger, faster, and more enduring. While transgender women who have undergone hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may experience a decrease in muscle mass, strength, and testosterone levels, some people still think that they may have an advantage over cisgender women, especially if they went through male puberty. Supporters of transgender rights argue that everyone should have an equal shot at competing in sports, regardless of gender identity. They believe that transgender individuals should be allowed to compete in sports that align with their gender identity, just like everyone else. As you can see, it's a complex issue with a lot of different perspectives. However, it's important to remember that we should strive to create a fair and inclusive environment for everyone in sports, regardless of their gender identity.

Yep if you ignore the radical left politicians and media and drill into what she is actually saying it is all very reasonable.
