By the way . There is no tax on booze cause there is an old law that dates back regarding the working man's right to have a affordable drink after a hard day's work. . ..
Try telling Donkey chops and James offshore that!
And unlike NZ there are no drunks or loutish twats hanging in the Via's (Streets)... Other than the poms in Marbella.

Where is this country and employment heading?? Was in a restaurant Saturday night in Tauranga and the owner runing around like a headless chicken,no staff.Asked about rates and he said to get staff on a Friday/Saturday night he offered a free meal and $31 ph still no takers.
We have 14 truck units and 21 drivers on the books. still cannot fill seats.Monday to Saturday working any 5 days. $34 + %10 if starting before am and the %10 loading is every hr all day and Saturday %10 loading + further %10 because its Saturday so in efect %20 for coming to work and still cant get bums on seats.
The excuses,Oh its my turn with children this weekend, got to pick children up from school. Bugger me most of us had to find our way to or from school.Entertain ourselves till the old man got home from work at 12 on a Saturday.
And no cant work that many hrs or the Govt will my working for families benefit. Not just kiwis now its some of the migrant workers

Bear in mind the minimum hourly rate in Spain is 7 something euros=$ 11.50NZD , so yeah things are outrageously cheap and cashed up westerners flock there to retire early or work remotely .

highly productive japan has a similarly low minimum hourly pay
the problem always with nz is people expect 1st world standards on 2nd world productivity
you can't have a low productivity, laid back summer lifestyle, AND 1st world infrastructure and benefits
the world owes nz nothing
if we want to import the best we have to work amongst the hardest/smartest to be able to pay for it
and with our rapidly slipping educational results AND only 60% of kids regularly attending school
we're no where near competing with the smartest
...
the political history of nz seems to show labour come in with grand ideas, rip up all the rules, but have no idea how to actually build things that perform to expectation
so after 2 terms of destroying things and replacing them with unworkable shells the electorate replace them with national
national then actually gets what could work working and tosses the nonsensical ideological dreams
then after 2 or 3 terms of national getting things back on track the beneficiaries become jealous of the rich rewards the workers are getting
so are suckers for the new crop of bright young labour dreamers who 'scream cake for everyone' paid for by more taxes on the 'rich pricks'
and the whole cycle starts anew
labour have had their 2 terms, exhausted their ability to improve things
and now need to be shown the door
so the cleaners can start tidying the mess
but if labour do a 3rd term, the downward drift of socialism's proven race to the bottom continues
and those with the skills and money to work anywhere
head back overseas to where they and their skills + money are rewarded

quite the shuffle, hipkins takes over as police minister
seems he will give up his education role to the associate minister Jan Tinetti and has maybe given covid-19 to Dr Ayesha Verrall
mallard's going to go to a diplomatic post in europe, faafoi leaving parliament
wonder if goff's comments about 3waters not being in auckland's interests cost him the plum london high commissioner job???
if the maori caucus lost police minister maybe they'll be mollified with a new speaker?

Yip spot on! Re the re shuffle by Stalinda .. i.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/128948673/kris-faafoi-trevor-mallard-to-quit-parliament-sparking-big-labour-reshuffleWhat an admission of A fucking big cluster! These fuckwits are out of thier depth! The level of incompetence is incredible and the country. Is really run by Ardern, hipkins, and Robertson. As for the cunt( no apologies as this word is apt) mallard. For his incompetence he gets a cushy overseas posting ... Pity the arseholes not going to Ukraine or Syria. Ardern has chosen poorly, let these retards fuck the country, then transferred them to lesser roles... Incompetence runs supreme!

An independent economist is warning New Zealand employers overseas companies will be looking to poach Kiwi workers over the coming year.
It comes after data released from Statistics New Zealand on Monday showed Aotearoa had an annual net migration loss of 8700 in the year ended April 2022. It also found the number of border crossings in April was the highest since the Government introduced travel restrictions in March 2020, but still far below pre-pandemic figures.
There were 266,700 border crossings in April this year - 125,100 arrivals and 141,600 departures. Provisional data available for May is even higher, with 169,042 arrivals and 175,727 departures. www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2022/06/foreign-employers-will-be-picking-off-nz-workers-over-the-coming-year-economist-warns.html
