On Tues in Auckland, Wairau Rd, 91 was $3.24, diesel was $3.06. I saw diesel for $3.10 up near my place... The fuel light is on in my car. It is warning me I need to call the bank and extend the mortgage, or I will run out of petrol and have to walk... Have a look for a NPD fuel station I have one near work and 20c cheaper than rivals, funny thing is they are refuled by allied which is mobil.100 octane $3.30 Never ever will I use BP on Drury/Bombay as the charge a futher 10c for being on the motorway system south. Labour cut the tax by 25% and fuel went up no win situation.Public transport is not an option for me.But the boy uses it daily in Tauranga, cbd to the mount $5 a week student rate and buses still empty. I don't actually spend very much on petrol. I just keep an eye on it for general economic impact, (and to feel smug I've already got fuel efficient cars I guess) I have a Mobile fuel card via the Motor Caravan Association (via my father) that gives us 12cents off, and monthly account payment on the 20th of the following month (so a bit of free credit for when interest rates go moonbeams). But we typically get 32 liters per month / one tank / $90. Working from home saves me 80l/month or $250 The missus can do her work commute in the PHEV on EV. My car is a 1.2 l hybride (that is wedged full of windsurfing gear, boat stuff, outboard motors, wetsuits or a spear gun). The family wagon is the PHEV, with a 2l motor, both cars have 35l fuel tanks, so getting a tank full isn't too traumatising. Over Christmas, a colleague was complaining he maxxed out the his credit card transaction limit filling his 3l Holden Captiva... standard 65l tank... mwahaha Via the monthly fuel bill I see my sister in laws bill. She still runs some family wagon that needs 95 octane - ouch - bills are $400 - $500 a month. That is a big impact on a family budget.

hopefully a chance to repair the economy with the 2023 election The most important issues for voters were the cost of living, with about 25 per cent of those polled listing it as a "major" issue, followed by
the economy, which was chosen as a "major" issue by 15 per cent of people.
Law and order was the third highest scoring issue.

Physical inactivity costing New Zealand economy $2.3b a year.Lost production caused by physical inactivity costs the New Zealand economy $2.3 billion a year. That's one of the shocking findings in a Deloitte report, commissioned by the international fitness industry, into the cost of inactivity. It also costs the New Zealand health system $530 million a year, $440 million of which is borne by the public health system and picked up by the taxpayer.www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2022/06/physical-inactivity-costing-new-zealand-economy-2-3b-a-year.htmldoes labour have a plan to get their gangs off motorcycles and on to bicycles? or is that only whites and asians?

Here's the thing....
If England took the Maori approach to claiming sovereignty to their own country that would be called out for being racist... Hold on a minute 🧐... They did and the have...
But did the poms get any special rights and privilages?.. nope!!
Same with many other countries!
So why are these, assholes in labour setting a "racial divide" precedent when thier are examples of " their approach failing... IE South Africa!

Record...
Crime, murders, road deaths, youth suicides, depression, delayed surgeries, debt, gang numbers, numbers wagging school, car thefts, .,.
All the promises these. Wankers made to fix these issues have resulted in lots of spin, billions spent / wasted and no results.
And kiwis still like the leader of this cluster! 🥴🙄

Here's a simple prediction. Not a single government will be re-elected anywhere in the developed world over the next three years. Inflation will wipe them all out.
With prices rising by between 8 per cent and 10 per cent everywhere (and by a terrifying 20 per cent in the case of Estonia) and still climbing, virtually no ruling administration can be re-elected anywhere. Here's why.
First, once inflation starts to take off real wages inevitably get hammered. We can see that very clearly in the UK, where wages may be rising by 4 per cent per year, but with inflation now at 9.1 per cent, the amount that people earn is actually falling by 5 per cent annually.
But the same remorseless logic is taking hold everywhere. In Germany, wages are rising at an average of 3 per cent but prices are going up by 7.9 per cent; in the US, wages are up by 3.4 per cent but prices by 9 per cent; and in the Netherlands wages are up by 3.8 per cent but inflation has now gone past 10 per cent. Living standards are getting squeezed and people are feeling poorer. In many cases, families have to cut back on holidays, new clothes, or even food simply to make ends meet.
Against that backdrop, it is hardly surprising that whoever happens to be in power is very unpopular.
Next, recessions are inevitable. Central banks have only one real weapon to bring prices back under control again and that is pushing up interest rates. The Federal Reserve has started tightening monetary policy in the US. So has the Bank of England in this country, and the European Central Bank is expected to start next month.
The trouble is, that pushes economies into a recession. Sure, it works. Demand is depressed, some businesses go bust, unemployment rises which stops people asking for increases in their pay, and eventually supply and demand start to match again, and inflation comes under control. But it is a painful process, and lots of people get hurt along the way. They take that out on the government.

I am really disappointed that this is the outcome I predicted when the bimbo and her bunch of incompetent numptys were appointed by Winston and then, worse given the cookie jar to help themselves...which they have done. But NZ (not aotearoa) chose MMP , then elected this govt who produced little detail policy but promised a 'reset' and a redistribution' without saying what that would be. So those who voted for them have got what they deserved. It's bloody rough on the rest of us and worse is to come. The division by division, and upturning of all aspects of society without benefit other than to themselves will take generations to repair. If ever. Muldoon effects are still going on some 50 yrs after. After this it'll be 100 yrs. This so called democracy is an experimental luxury that proves that the majority cannot be entrusted with it. MMP is the root cause and it was designed to prevent another Reich in Germany. But we managed to get one here

But we managed to get one here I recall GO30, in his previous user name, saying exactly the same thing on that other forum. His main point was that it was 100% personality politics, and zero policy. Nothing of substance changed from Andrew Do-Little, accept we had a fresh young female face. Cough, choke, GO30 was right...

The main thing to remember is we are heading to hell in a hand basket no matter which muppet is driving the bus . So be prepared for a bit of let down when the next government gets in . Christopher Loxton won’t buy the refinery , he won’t tell the Chinese to fuck off , he won’t tell Putin to fuck off , he won’t tell OPEC to drop the price of oil , he won’t ban the import of electric vehicles and inflation won’t drop overnight . The whole world has its undies in a major twist and changing the fucktards at the top in Wellington ain’t going to fix it .

crime, education, health, housing affordability, water supply, local governance, ownership rights, property law, running a company, central planning, racial division etc

Not sure about racial division mate my old man and grandad were racists well before Jacinda was born . It’s something I’m acutely aware of having 4 part Māori children and myself having Indian , Irish and Scottish genetics . Racism is here to stay I’m afraid and I don’t give a fuck about 3 waters or co- governance it’s goes centuries further back than that current bitchfest .
As for the other stuff you have listed it’s seems every other country bar the Viking and Arab oil rich ones are having the same problems . And thats just seeing the wood for the trees not backing my favourite muppet (Bert and Ernie )

"After four years of often torturous negotiations, New Zealand and the European Union have agreed a free trade deal.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who helped conclude negotiations in Brussels said it would help grow exports to the European Union by $1.8 billion a year by 2035."
This is Labour's idea of successful business, 4 years work to maybe make 1.8 billion over the nest 13 years, while spending 100 billion in a couple of years on marketing at home.
