Big and the odd one REAL BIG ques at all pumps at all open stations seen when coming north last evening, 5-7pm ish. Even saw some utes filling 44gal drums they had on the back, hate to what that cost...but then they looked farmer so no fuel no work.
It sure had a end of days like feel once in rural land. In the burbs it had its usual 'scared n panicking lemmings' feel. No sympathy found for a trophy doris filling the X5 or Q7.

The fuel cost and panic buying sperned by the media yesterday is just a media beat up. My local mobile is 7 cents cheaper today than on Wednesday.
As far as I can tell, yesterdays excitement was solely about Waitomo south island announcing a big price hike. It resulted in wall to wall media coverage about Waitomo yesterday. I think its what they call gorilla marketing. Or some form of making a crisis in order to get your name out there.
Fits the media narrative perfectly. Spread anxiety, scare people, all fact free. The dirty filthy protest in Welly has wrapped up, so what next? Lets talk up wild petrol price increases. Ignoring the fact the price just dropped...

Price per litre in Venezuela...$0.03c USD So someone is screwing the system!!!! They get subsidies on their fuel and canβt export to the states , yet . If they start exporting that will drive the price up . The populace must be very poor if they have to give fuel away

Last week I saw something that suggested burning X tonnes of avgas (kerosene) produced 7.2 times more tonnes of CO2 and a few other bits. Above you mention 1lt of petrol produces 330% more than that of CO2. So how does burning 0.72 kilos of something turn it into 2.4kg? Petrol weighing 0.72 per lt or at least 100LL (low lead) as used in light aircraft does. I think 91 mogas weighs a little more.

Arden assured us her government has nothing to do with the price of fuel, everyone else must be lying.

Fuel is a business expense. With this government the rich get richer and the poor, who they want to help, get poorer. Go Cinda go!... Nobody does it better than labour. Houses in have lifted more people out poverty than this government has
