Thanks for the lead on the OGO loo . After a few hours squizzing the net and other forums it looks like a good replacement for our stinky hoses and pump n dump jabscos. Wife can’t handle the logistics with sea cocks etc and I don’t like giving loo lessons mid meal to newbies . It's not a bad looking bit of gear that OGO. When sussing that 'class' of dunny i.e the short term use small compacts, it appealed the most. It's a handy boat package that's for sure.
I may need to put a poster above the Sun-Mar on how to operate it. Pretty simple - 'If you pee let it be, if you poop add a scoop' Will probably chuck out the electric loo and put an OGO in its place and the other two bogs can serve as urinals . It will be nice to get holding tanks and associated hoses off the boat .

Dumpimg ashore?? if not whats the benefit??Still dropping poos in the ocean. It’s dried dessicated poo and coconut husk so basically dirt . Fish will tell you what you need to know about poo in the ocean . many benefits …won’t have to empty holding tanks every day or two , no portaloo type stink if the biome goes bad in the holding tank , no sewerage plant smells in the cockpit when someone pumps a nugget into a holding tank . I won’t go into hoses and disasters and joker valves etc that’s self explanatory.

HaHa I know all about clogged holding tanks and hoses, electric packed a sad shortly after purchase of yacht, and lets just say it went overboard and rest of cruise was a bucket, luckly contents stayed in forward compartment but was a shitty job, hence why went back to old jabsco toilet and holding tank removed,

I have a natures head going in my little ship. Another bonus is less thru-hull fittings. I thoroughly enjoying glassing all mine up. With the smelly diesel donk gone I now only have one thru-hull for the sink.
I think I worked out I can go about 6 weeks without emptying so can park up in a remote bay without having to head out to sea to discharge every few days.

What are you doing for propulsion without the donk? Solely renewable wind energy? Or some stored renewable electrickery?

Gone to an outboard in a well. Not everyones cup of tea but more pro's than negatives from where I am sitting. Electric would be nice from a self contained perspective but room to hang panels off and battery cost is too restrictive as of now.
If I change my mind it would be very easy to pop an electric outboard in the well if I decided to go that way..

If I change my mind it would be very easy to pop an electric outboard in the well if I decided to go that way.. There is definitely a lot of advantages to a tried and tested outboard over electric. I've recently started fishing from my 3m deflatable. I'm using a classic Yamaha 2hp. weighs 11kg so I can lift it with one hand, and beach launch my dink like a kayak. Typically use 1l to 1.5l petrol a session covering about 5nm to 8 nm. I was literal (just before) pondering putting an electric trolling motor on, having read an article in Fishing New about how great they are for catching fish. Then I though, you' know, I've got oars on my dink... stealth mode. No need for batteries, range anxiety, correct charging profile etc. The noise is the only downside, but I can refuel it easily at sea, cost bugger all (came with a sailing dinghy and road trailer for $700), and goes at trolling speed just fine. I've got a 5hp in the shed that can make my dink plane, but that isn't really a priority. My little 2hp doesn't need a hand on the throttle like a twist grip goes, so I can putter along rigging my gear, have lunch or scratch my nuts without stopping every time I let go of the throttle.

Yep and cheap as chips. New old stock outboard cost me $2600 + high thrust prop. Same motor as merc/tohatsu.
I have a custom made tank around 65L of useable volume which should give me 30+hrs of running so 150+ miles of range. When I get back after a trip I can throw it in the back of the truck and bring it home for a clean/service. And I now have a quite roomy wet locker under the cockpit instead of a smelly, bilge blackening money hole. I really don't think I will miss the diesel..

I don't currently have an electric outboard...

Hook your composting loo into the outboard, Boom!! Biogas powered. If you don't need much range then a lettuce salad, if you see no wind for a few days go big on baked beans
