Speaking of the Ministry of Truth, I've decided its about time I read 1984. I've had the book sitting around the house for several years, but do you think I can find it now? I've started reading it twice before, but just found it too dark and disturbing. It just happens that I really enjoy historical accounts, books based on true stories and documentary type literature. Hence this coming back up on my radar. I wonder if those govt agents posing as census wombles nicked it? I'm sure its on the 'subversive' list already. |

So the Minister for Transport and the Minister for Auckland have been working for the last 6 yrs to get us to spend Billions of our money building a tram to the Airport. Now it turns out he owns shares in the airport. Do you think having a public light rail to the airport would increase its value? Funny how he "forgot" to declare his shares for such a long time. Some people would call this borderline corruption. But on the face of it, if he can't handle filing a simple assets and interests declaration properly, what the fuck is he doing being in charge of transport and Auckland? Noting we have a transport agency that can't fix potholes, but can change the language of road signs... Oh, and the stand-in Minister for Transport is the Honourable (choke) Kieran McAnaulty. you'd think with the hundreds of millions labour have spent on consultants
they'd be able to find someone to explain the cabinet manual to their thick cabinet
i'd even go so far as to say
READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE CABINET MANUAL SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT FOR BEING A MINISTER!
give them homework and test if needed
oh that's right, labour doesn't like homework and 'tests' as too many labourites don't do well with them
we all know labour are seriously short of 'talent'
but endless rearranging their 'deck-chair' cabinet doesn't help nz moving forward and keeping up with the world
but then they are that f@#ked up
they think increasing tax is nz's future
not increased productivity

Further, Wood was told SIX TIMES by the cabinet office to sort it.
Then the cabinet office told the PM.
His excuse is he was trying to sell them, but had the wrong email address for his broker (or something like that).
Anyway, Kieran McAnulty. I hadn't heard of him until he shafted the good Dr Sharma. All of a sudden McAnulty is getting all these plumb senior Minister positions. Is this some sort of quid pro quo for doing the dirty work getting rid of Dr Sharma?
