Heading to Ponui this afternoon, as my boat style no longer involves masts I expect my twin Cummins will get me there in good time for a wine or two

I am afraid I have a 20 year Riviera these days . I keep a very wide berth from yachts and I am a very religious rule follower. We use about 80 litres an hour at 18 knots. Boating just ignore the dollars

Boating just ignore the dollars Unfortunately I joined the same group but in a smaller scale. No time to invest in Maintaince or run down to check moorings. Ended with 14ft trailer boat, local fishing east/west depending on weather , Unfortunately we reached a time poor management through no fault, but thats employment today .6 day weeks, got mine down to 5 with standby. Just read an interesting article seeing how innissmara is up for sale and the struggle they have crew/custodianship. I would consider her to be a cheap vessel but betherage is a killer. www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/boats-marine/yachts/keeler/listing/3319495565?bof=JXR6iPpXfrom 3 yrs ago but think situation still be the same boatingnz.co.nz/classic-sailing-a-call-to-arms/

Yes, time poor these days. My friend I raced with struggled with crew after awhile and had a top boat (always race someones elses yacht ) Marina fees are a killer. We bought the lease a few years back, but when that ends in about 7 years I think we will sell or move out of Auckland.

We bought the lease a few years back, but when that ends in about 7 years I think we will sell or move out of Auckland. It's not just the cost of the berths, it is the availability as well. Try buying/renting long term a 14m+ berth anywhere between Tauranga and Kerikeri, almost non existent. On a different summer cruising matter - the weather - wondering if we are starting to see the standard pattern for the summer setting in? Forecast is for another La Nina cycle which means northerlies and a fair amount of rain for the north of NZ.

The water was in the 18-19C range over the weekend around Tiri which seems quite warm for this time of year?

I am certain that all us Aotearoa-philes out there are looking forward to visiting again . .
the past 20 months or so must have been really hard for your tourism businesses.
"New Zealand will allow fully vaccinated international travelers into the country from next year, in a gradual easing of its strict border restrictions that have been in place for more than 18 months to curb the spread of the coronavirus."

But I’ll be out early tomorrow am.
