Looks like a fairly even distribution of boats spread around the region inc Kawau, Waiheke, Coro, Barrier and BOI. Even a few made it out to the Mercs which must be nice right now.

What are the consequences of anchoring in the ‘no anchoring’ zones?

What are the consequences of anchoring in the ‘no anchoring’ zones? Where are you referring to? The restrictions are still in place for Tryphena/Blind Bay/Whangapara, altho the MPI boat that pulled alongside us in Bowling Alley Bay yesterday said you can get a permit to anchor in those places. Gt Barrier is busy but not crowded, alot of "regular" kiwi boats (more launches than yachts tho) out here which is pleasing, not just hordes of Rivitimos

What I mean is if you anchor there and they ‘catch you’ then what happens? A warning? A massive fine? Jail? Confiscation of boat?

Shame about Cody spoiling the weekend (wind) plus the first few days of next week (residual swell & murky water no doubt).
We were planning a hop to the Mercs / Whiti next week but I might delay a few days and send the family by car to avoid an un-family-friendly trip around!

Looking at PW it's not showing that much evil, in the harbour at least. Down Coro way and the East coast it looks to be a bit wild.
