In an attempt to keep the WWIII thread on track, and given the Merican election is in full flight, lets start a thread on it.
Firstly, I've very pleased to hear that Trump's strategist from the last election was released from prison yesterday. Steve Bannon. He views himself as a political prisoner, which is interesting in the bastion of Western democracy.
And something that is utterly fascinating, what set of circumstances are needed for a candidate for President and former President need to stand up and say "I'm not a Nazi"?
How did that even register as needing to be said?

What I love about Trump saying he's not a Nazi is it completely distracts from his obvious fascist agenda. It is easy for him to say he's not a Nazi, mainly cause he is not one. Hasn't flown swastika flags or done Nazi salutes. The real issue is his fascist agenda, so saying he is not a Nazi is an excellent diversion.
Very clever guy.

You mean fascist like persecuting and jailing political dissidents, controlling social media to censor opponents speeches and opposing narratives, calling for the nationalisation of opponents business interests, malicious prosecution of supporters of opponent?

Babylonbee is a good source of news for the upcoming election.
In Devastating Blow To Democrats, Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Following The Law Politics · Oct 30, 2024 · BabylonBee.com
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The upcoming presidential election took an interesting turn when, in a devastating blow to Democrats, the United States Supreme Court ruled today in favor of following the law.
The landmark decision upheld a Virginia law passed by Democrats in 2006, which required the removal all non-citizens from the commonwealth's voter rolls, leaving the Democratic Party's candidates with the significant challenge of trying to convince only American citizens to vote for them.
"This a crushing ruling for Democrats," said journalist Mark Halperin. "No one expected the Supreme Court to rule in favor of following the law. Having to rely on American citizens to elect candidates in American elections flies directly in the face of everything we stand for. They'll have to start from scratch and convince actual Americans to vote for them. Not good."
Prominent Democrats were outraged by the historic ruling. "This is an abuse of power!" said Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Madison Leeland. "Where does the Supreme Court get off telling people they have to follow the law? Following laws is fascist. This is what we can all look forward to in Donald Trump's America — being forced to adhere to laws. In fact, being forced to follow the law should be against the law."
At publishing time, political analysts predicted a sharp drop in votes for Kamala Harris in Virginia, leaving the campaign pinning all its hopes in the commonwealth on generating more turnout among its key dead people demographic.

Going to be interesting to see which way the results go. Some have Trump in no problem but some say the same about Harris. What is concerning though is if the result is that close how big will the following shit fight be. You know supporters on the losing side will spark large but where will that go is the question.
This election could change the world, most likely almost certainly will, but which way is the other big question. Trump could be bad for world trade, Harris bad for world wars.
Buckle up, it's gonna be a week or 3.

The most astonishing thing about Trump is not that he might win the election.
Regardless of whether he wins or not, the mere fact that he can even exist politically, says far more about the state of the US national psyche than the actual election result itself.
History suggests that the conditions we are seeing in the US look remarkably like the fall of the Roman Empire (sped up by about 10x).

Possibly starting in January with a forced credit default and “rebuilding “ the economy with crypto .

Yep, 350 million people and they come up with those two candidates. But the dems just can't help themselves, it's almost like Biden is a Trump spy www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/10/has_biden_lost_harris_the_election.htmlA comedian at a Trump rally referred to Puerto Rico as an island of garbage. This was very unhelpful to Trump as 100,000 people from Puerto Rico live in the vital swing state of Pennsylvania. But then Joe Biden blunders in and says that the only garbage he sees are Trump supporters. The only thing more stupid than insulting 100,000 swing state voters is insulting half the electorate. The White House amended the transcript to add an apostrophe so they could claim Biden meant only one supporter of Trump (the comedian) not all of them, but the damage is done. In an election that will come down to turnout, he has energised Trump’s base in a way which will enrage the Harris campaign. And Trump is a genius when it comes to stunts, so today he turned up to a rally like this: A genius troll move. In just 48 hours an issue which may have cost Trump a swing state, has not turned into a plus for him thanks to Joe Biden. Bet you we won’t be seeing him in public again for the next six days!

This is a consequence of the current state of US politics where any conservative candidate is subject to incredible vitirol and character assassination by the Dopeycrats and other left groups, aided and abetted by the compliant media. Look what Trump's nominees for the Supreme court went thru. So unfortuntely people who might be a good fit for the role of president from the conservative side have no stomach for this so you will get a Trump like personality with a hide like a water buffalo. The Dopeycrats have tried everything to get rid of him, all the lawfare, the assasination attempts, the false Russian accusations (engineered by Shillary Clinton) and fraudulent voting, yet he keeps bouncing back. You probably would not agree, but Winston Churchill was a somewhat similar personality. I would rather have someone like Trump as their President for all his many faults, because he stands up for his country and gets shit done, unlike the Dopeycrat swamp dwellers who are only about dividing and destroying their country whilst filling their own pockets.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the movie star and former Republican governor of California, said Wednesday that he will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris for president. In a morning post on X, Schwarzenegger wrote that despite his many disagreements with her, the only way to move forward and better the country is to vote for Harris. “We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former president Trump won’t do that,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger.” www.stuff.co.nz/culture/360470499/arnold-schwarzenegger-says-hell-reluctantly-vote-kamala-harris

Calling him a conservative is a bit of stretch . I don’t think he even fits anywhere on the political spectrum because he’s not really a politician in the true sense of the word . He won’t be getting shit done , the triumvirate of Thiel , Sacks and Musk will be running the joint . Theil wants crypto , Sacks probably wants Iran evaporated and crypto , Musk wants to placate Russia so his satellite network doesn’t get blasted out of space in a war and also needs to keep china onside so his manufacturing there isn’t effected by trumps “tariffs “ or a war over Taiwan . He could also be in legal trouble or lose his US Govt contracts if the allegations of his violating of the Logan Act are true . All 3 want minimal to zero Govt jurisdiction of business and finance sectors which is great if you are in the %.03 Churchill did not court Mussolini , Hirihoto , Saydam or the German guy or take their money and he certainly didn’t tell the German guy he could do whatever the hell he wants in Europe .

Yeah, ok. That doesn't sound very credible, but I'm keen to understand how you came to believe that?
